About Me
My dedication to my client’s is deeply rooted in a personal journey marked by a profound love for helping others and a genuine compassion for the human experience. It all began with a realization of the impact of mental health on my own life and the lives of those close to me.
Having witnessed the challenges faced by friends and family members struggling with their mental well-being, I developed an unwavering commitment to foster healing and resilience. This intimate connection to the struggles of loved ones ignited a passion for providing compassionate support to individuals navigating their unique journeys.
In my own exploration of mental health, I discovered the transformative power of holistic care approaches. This personal experience fueled my desire to create a therapeutic space that goes beyond conventional methods. At Cruze Counsling, each client benefits from not only evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) but also from a deep understanding of the human experience and the power of empathy.
My commitment to holistic care is not just a professional endeavor; it's a personal mission to create a sanctuary for individuals seeking understanding, healing, and a compassionate ally on their path to well-being. Together, we will navigate the complexities of your journey, drawing strength from both evidence-based practices and a heartfelt connection to the human experience.
Educational and Professional Background
My journey in the field of psychology began at the University of North Texas, where I graduated with honors, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Continuing my pursuit of knowledge, I obtained a Master of Social Work degree with honors from the University of Texas at Arlington. Throughout my academic journey, I actively contributed to the field as the fundraising chair of the psychology honors club, Psi Chi, and as a valuable member of various research teams.
In my professional career, I gained invaluable experience as a psychiatric social worker, specializing in assisting individuals who had been hospitalized for mental health concerns. My commitment to transformative care led me to lead intensive outpatient group therapy for high-risk clients, a role I held for several years. As I honed my skills, I discovered my true passion for individual therapy, where I could make a profound impact on a personal level.
In addition to my hands-on experience, I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a therapeutic approach that I integrate into my practice for trauma-focused care. I am a proud member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA), reflecting my commitment to staying current with the latest advancements in the field. With a solid foundation in academic excellence and a wealth of professional experience, I am here to support you on your journey toward healing and personal growth.
